    Description

A lot of 8 items from Panama acquired by a relative between 1939 and 1943. They are made out of a tropical hardwood and decorated with seeds, snake skin, and leather hide. The exact location of origin within Panama is unknown but they are associated with the indigenous tribes of South America and the Amazon region. A similar bow sold on Ebay (item number 233277115140) was attributed to the Jivaro culture.
The lot includes 1 bow, 3 arrows, 3 two sided spears, and 1 knife. Details on their dimensions are as folllows:
-bow: 29 in long by 2.5 in wide
-arrows: 20.5 in long x 0.5 in at the widest part of the tip
-spear (larger): 28 in long by 1.5 in wide
-spears (smaller): 12 in long by 12.5 in wide
-knife: 13 in long by 1.5 in at the widest part at the base of the pointed end
It is unclear if the pieces are actual hunting items, ceremonial pieces, or made for the tourist trade.
