THE PROCESS:
When we collect beetles for our colony orders, we separate the beetles/larvae from the debris, or "frass", that accumulates in the colony. This allows us to get an accurate count on how many beetles are included in each and every order. We have actually taken the time to count them, and then weigh them to ensure all orders are receiving the correct amount (plus some!). We then package the beetles back into the frass material. We do this because in the frass are thousands upon thousands of eggs and small larvae that would be missed otherwise. With the additional eggs and larvae, your starter colony will receive a huge boost! We ship all stages of life but try to mainly include the larger larvae. The larvae are your main flesh eaters in every colony. The more larvae-the better.
SHIPPING:
All beetles are shipped free USPS priority mail (1-3 day shipping) or for an additional cost, there is the option of Priority Mail Express (1 day shipping) I have shipped all over the United States through all weather conditions- these are extremely hardy beetles and there is no need for Express shipping, however the option is definitely available if that is a concern. I also have heat packs available for those who want them- I don't usually recommend them (because they can create humidity) We can also have the beetles held at the Post Office- I definitely recommend this option. Especially if you are not able to pick up your beetles promptly.

We make every effort on our end to ensure your beetles arrive to you alive and healthy. With
that being said,
DO NOT
let your beetles sit outside on a cold porch or inside a cold mailbox. The beetles need to be picked up immediately upon delivery. If you have any issues with your order, please contact us right away so we can resolve any issues. If your beetles do happen to have perished in transit and you have met the conditions of our guarantee, we are happy to work with you to resolve this issue.
For any claims,
you must contact us within 3 hours of delivery and provide photos and/or video to confirm the condition of the beetles. If all conditions are met for live arrival, we will either issue a refund, or ship you additional beetles.
THINGS TO CONSIDER WHEN BUILDING YOUR COLONY OF BEETLES
Ensure you receive an ample supply of larvae in your order.
Larvae is necessary to start immediately cleaning skulls as they are your main flesh eaters. Many businesses will sell you mainly adults which mostly lay eggs- which is great to keep the colony going but not so great if you're wanting to clean heads as soon as possible. This is why we ship a large quantity of larvae, plus adults, and why we ship the beetles in their frass which has thousands of eggs ready to hatch and small larvae.
To clean big game skulls, you will need thousands of beetles and larvae.
Many businesses will tell you 100-300 beetles and larvae are enough to begin cleaning skulls. This may be true if you were cleaning mice skulls but to clean big game animals, you will need thousands of beetle larvae. To attain numbers this high, it takes a bit of time to build your colony.
