    Lot of 2 Vtg SYMONDS Art Deco Cast Iron Register Vent Grates #233, 13 3/4” by 9 3/4”!
    ESTATE FIND! Someone tore down an old house years ago and had the foresight to do some architectural salvage. I purchased a dozen of these grates and I’m selling a lot of two in this auction. Please check my other listings if you are interested in buying more, or reach out to see how many I have left.
    These *ORIGINAL ANTIQUE* Art Deco grates have an outside measurement of approximately 13 3/4” x 9 3/4”. Back is embossed with Patent dates of 1900 and 1907, as well as the SYMONDS name and model number 233. One features a silver look while the other was likely gold/brass, but is now rusty.
    Condition is mixed. Since they are over 100 years old, there are some rusty spots on the silver one and widespread rust on the other one -
    it should probably be
    sandblasted
    and re
    finished. The silver one is missing a small section of decorative grating, as shown in the last photo. Otherwise complete and in working condition.
    Buy them for highlights to your room or collection, or refinish them and restore them to their original glory then install them in your older house!
