It is approx 8 inches wide and 5 1/4 inches tall. This fabulous basket would be a wonderful addition to any home or collection. Basket making, a traditional art that has been handed down from mother to daughter since the earliest times, represents the deepest traditions of Wounaan and Emberá culture. Baskets are usually made by women. All the baskets made traditionally by the Wounaan and Emberá are woven with different materials found in the Darien Rainforest, and come in many different shapes and sizes, depending on the specific use for which each is intended. Some baskets are woven so tightly that they can hold water.
