Description
Symonds and Tuttle and Bailey both manufactured arch top small warm air heat registers. It is not clear who was first, but this item has patent date of May 1880 as best as I can read it. Patent date is cast into one of the long louvers in the rear. See pix.Very detailed and ornate casting details. Beautiful workmanship. Heavy item.
This item is a SYMONDS - St. Louis, MO. with an 1888 patent date. on the back side of one of the vertical louver fins.
8" x 11" wall opening - all dimensions approximate in this listing, 10" x 14" front arch dimensions. There are two screws that hold the front plate to the lover assembly. I will include two new, solid brass machine screws you can try and see if this enhances the effect of the register. Your decision. It is shipped with steel machine screws (the originals) painted black.
Lever at bottom front shifts right and left once you move the shaft knob to attain the air flow desired.
